There are moments in life when loneliness feels overwhelming.
Moments when the path ahead is unclear.
When the weight of decisions, healing, or simply existing feels like too much to carry alone.
In those moments, it can feel like there is no one there.
But the truth is,
you have never been alone.
The Lineage That Walks With You
Behind you stands a lineage that stretches further than your mind can comprehend.
Generations of lives lived.
Stories carried.
Love expressed in ways both spoken and silent.
Mothers and grandmothers who held emotions they were never given space to express.
Who carried silence in their bones and still kept going.
Fathers and grandfathers who embodied strength in ways the world demanded of them.
Who loved deeply, even when they didn’t have the language to show it.
Each of them endured.
Each of them contributed something, seen or unseen, that made your life possible.
You are not here by accident.
You are the continuation of many lifetimes of survival, resilience, and love.
They Live Through You
Ancestry is not just history.
It is presence.
It lives in:
- Your body
- Your instincts
- Your emotional patterns
- Your strength and your sensitivities
The way you respond to life…
The way you love…
The way you rise after being broken…
All of it carries echoes of those who came before you.
You are not separate from them.
You are an extension of their journey.
A Moment of Remembering
There are moments, rare, but deeply powerful, when this truth is not just understood, but experienced.
In one of my ceremonies, this was revealed to me with absolute clarity.
I saw thousands of my ancestors gathered around me.
Not distant.
Not abstract.
Present.
Protecting me.
Holding me.
Cheering me on.
It wasn’t a thought.
It was knowing.
A felt sense that I was supported in ways I had never allowed myself to fully believe.
Calling on Their Strength
Since that moment, something shifted.
When I feel uncertain…
When I step into spaces that ask me to be braver than I feel…
When doubt begins to creep in…
I remember.
I call upon them.
Not as something outside of me, but as something that lives within me.
Their strength becomes my strength.
Their resilience becomes my grounding.
Their presence becomes my reminder that I am capable of more than I think.
You Can Access This Too
You don’t need a ceremony to begin connecting with your ancestral presence.
You can start simply:
- Sit in silence and acknowledge those who came before you
- Reflect on the lives they lived and what they carried
- Speak to them, even if only in your thoughts
- Ask for guidance, strength, or clarity
Connection begins with remembrance.
And remembrance brings you back into a relationship, with something greater than just your individual self.
When You Feel Alone, Remember This
There will still be moments of doubt.
Moments where the world feels heavy.
Moments where you question your path.
In those moments, pause.
Breathe.
And remember:
You walk with generations behind you.
You carry their stories, their strength, and their survival.
They are not gone.
They are here,
in you,
with you,
through you.
They always have been.
