At Lionheart, we see integration not as an afterthought, but
as the HEART of the journey.

“Integration Is the Bridge between Revelation and Transformation,
It is where fleeting epiphanies become Embodied Truths.

What is Integration?

Integration is an intentional process of reflecting, processing, and embodying the insights and emotions that arise before, during and after a plant medicine journey. It is how wisdom takes root, guiding you toward balance and wholeness.

Why Integration Matters?

“Without integration, a journey may remain a memory. With it, the teachings ripple through your life.”

Plant medicine ceremonies are powerful portals of healing, clarity, and transformation. Without integration, a journey may remain a memory, however with it, the teachings constantly ripple through your life.

It starts the day you have said YES ! for the journey. It can be broken into three parts:

  • Before Journey – Preparation
  • During Journey -Experience
  • After Journey – Reflection

Integration Begins with Preparation

Before embarking on the journey, it is important to prepare your mind, heart, and environment. Preparation is the foundation upon which true healing unfolds.

  • Medicine – Learn about the medicine, approach it with respect and awareness.
  • Set (Mindset) – Invite your mind to trust. Be humble in your approach and cultivate emotional readiness.
  • Setting (Environment) – Choose spaces, journeys, and facilitators that feel safe and supportive. Back home, inform your loved ones and invite their understanding and support.
  • Intention – Let intention be your guiding star. Intentions are not goals or demands; they are sacred prayers of the heart.

How to Set an Aligned Intention:

  • Ask: “What in me is ready to be seen, healed, or released?”
  • Be honest: “I want to open my heart” is as valid as “I want to face my fear of being alone.”
  • Keep it simple: One or two intentions are enough.
  • Speak it aloud: Write it down or say it as a prayer before the ceremony.
  • Stay open: The medicine may not give you what you ask for, but it will give you what you need.

When I prepare with love, I lay the foundation for transformation.”

Integration During Ceremony

The way you meet the medicine shapes your healing. During ceremony things to keep in mind

  • Respect the Space – Honour the ceremony, the songs, the guides.
  • Trust & Surrender – The more you release, the deeper you can go.
  • Breathe & Be Present – Your breath is your anchor.
  • Choose Curiosity over Fear – Ask: “What is this teaching me?”

    “Breathe. Surrender. Trust. Allow.

Integration After Ceremony

The ceremony is only the doorway. Integration is how you step through it and embody what you have received.

  • Rest & Nourishment – Sleep well, eat healthy, and allow your body to restore.
  • Emotional ExpressionJournal, dance, paint, sing, give your heart a voice.
  • Processing & Meaning-Making – Meditate, reflect, and share in safe integration spaces.
  • Grounding Practices – Stay rooted by connecting with your body and the earth. Grounding can look like yoga, breathwork, meditation, ritual, walking barefoot on the earth, time in nature, or simply sitting in stillness.
