2. What to expect on your first plant medicien

My Sacred Journey to Peru

Stepping into your first plant medicine journey is a sacred and courageous act. It’s not a vacation, it’s a return to your soul, a remembering of who you are beneath the noise of the world. While no two journeys are ever the same, there are threads that connect us, experiences, emotions, and truths that many of us walk through when we say yes to this path.

Before the Ceremony: The Journey Begins

The medicine starts working long before you ever drink it. In the days or even weeks leading up to the retreat, you might notice old emotions rising to the surface, vivid dreams, or a strong desire to withdraw and reflect. This is completely normal.
We call this the preparation phase, and it’s where your intention begins to take root. You’ll be invited to slow down, clean your physical and emotional space, and begin turning inward.

The Ceremony: A Sacred Container

Our plant medicine ceremonies are not casual gatherings, they are sacred rites of passage. We open the space with prayers, intention, and a deep honoring of the traditions and spirits that guide this work.

Here’s what you might experience inside the ceremony:

Physically:

  • Purging (vomiting, sweating, yawning, crying) is common and sacred, it’s how the body releases stagnant energy and trauma.
  • You may feel intense waves of heat, cold, tingling, or stillness.
  • The body sometimes moves involuntarily as energy clears and realigns.

Emotionally:

  • You might meet parts of yourself you’ve buried, grief, shame, fear, or guilt.
  • Emotions can rise like waves: unexpected, raw, and liberating.
  • You may also experience deep love, forgiveness, compassion, and joy, sometimes all in the same night.

Spiritually:

  • You may receive visions, meet ancestors or guides, or gain clarity on your life’s path.
  • Some people feel a connection to nature, Source, or the cosmos beyond words.
  • And sometimes… The medicine shows you stillness, asking you to simply trust and be.

Every ceremony is different. The medicine gives you what you need, not always what you want, but always in service of your highest healing.

How I Hold Space

Holding space is a sacred responsibility. In our journeys together:

  • You are deeply supported, emotionally, energetically, and physically.
  • I hold a strong, grounded, loving container that honors both ancient tradition and modern trauma-informed care.
  • Whether you are laughing, crying, vomiting, or in stillness, you are safe, seen, and never alone.
  • Our team gently guides and supports you through the experience without interference, trusting in the wisdom of the medicine while being present for anything that arises.

After the Ceremony: Integration is Everything

The real magic begins after the ceremony ends. Integration is how you take your insights and bring them into your daily life.

You may feel expanded, tender, or deeply reflective. You might question everything you thought you knew. You may also feel a renewed sense of clarity, purpose, and peace.

We support you through integration with:

  • Sharing circles
  • Gentle guidance
  • Reflection tools
  • Embodiment practices
  • Ongoing connection

You’re not just having an experience, you’re transforming your life.

Final Thoughts: Say Yes, Gently

This work isn’t about escaping. It’s about arriving, into your truth, your body, your soul.

It’s a journey of death and rebirth, of surrender and remembrance. And you don’t have to do it alone.

If you’re feeling the call, I invite you to trust that your soul already knows the way. You will be held. You will be guided. And you will come home to yourself.
